A: Cowbelly was the nickname for Gypsy; the English Staffordshire Bullterrier pictured below. I decided to name my business after Gypsy when I was employed as her dog walker back in the day, and she helped me brainstorm business names on her couch on a few rainy Seattle days. (“Cowbelly, what should I name my business?”). Gypsy’s nickname comes from the holstein cow-like pattern of splotches on her belly. Before she left us for the big dog park in the sky in 2011, Gypsy used to love treats and belly rubs and lived in the Blue Ridge neighborhood of Seattle. Remember that old Pentax film camera I mentioned on my about page? These shots were created with it. I really loved Gypsy. I will always miss her.
